Day 1
Review guiding principles in addressing childhood dissociation and describe a comprehensive model for assessing and treating trauma-related dissociation in youth. Through discussion and application using real-life clinical cases and videos, you’ll learn essential principles of effective diagnosis and treatment.
Day 2
Understand treatment stages, including stabilization, trauma processing, and integration and post-integration phases. Review proven strategies to involve caretakers in the therapeutic journey. Clinical case studies with videos and client artwork will highlight the application of treatment strategies.
Meet the Trainer
Frances S. Waters, DCSW, LMSW, LMFT, is the author of Healing the Fractured Child: Diagnosing and Treating Dissociative Youth (2016) and comprehensive checklists of indicators of trauma and dissociation, CIT-DY (2020) for caregivers and youth. She is the past President of The International Society for the Study of Trauma & Dissociation and former Faculty Director of the Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy Training program. She is an internationally recognized trainer, consultant, and clinician in childhood dissociation, who has presented on 5 continents and has received numerous awards for her work.
