Level A-Elevated Needs

This six-week course is required for families that are caring for youth designated as having elevated needs. This training is just one of the curriculums approved by the Children’s Division Central Office; therefore, all six weeks must be completed at FamilyFoward. Completing this coursework does not automatically qualify a resource parent as a Level A provider, skill acquisition should be demonstrable within the core competencies. Registration for this class must be requested by your case worker. FamilyForward will not take the registration from an individual resource provider.

Difficulties with sensory processing are often confused with behavioral problems. Children who have been in foster care or adopted are at a heightened risk of experiencing these challenges. Learn about Sensory Processing Disorder, its signs and symptoms, suggested ways that parents and teachers can help, and resources in the area. This two-part training provides parents with hands-on experience.
