Kinship Navigator

A Helping Hand in Your Journey

Our kinship navigators are here to lend a helping hand to caregivers who are relatives or foster parents, caring for children traumatized by their circumstances.

Whether it's legal, educational, or medical, our FamilyForward kinship navigators assist kin caretakers in navigating these complex systems, helping them understand who they need to interact with and how they can access various social supports available in our community — all to provide a safe and stable environment for the children in their care.

We Provide Personalized Support to Caregivers

We understand the weight that comes with stepping in to parent children. We strive to deliver comprehensive services to support kinship families. We use a variety of innovative tools, resources and methods to provide the best resources for the children and families that we serve.

We Are There When You Need Us

Our kinship navigators are an ongoing resource for our kinship families, helping families manage referrals, and constantly maintaining contact for any needs that arise throughout the journey.

We Leverage Our Care Network to Connect You With Resources

We collaborate with a variety of agencies to ensure that we provide the most comprehensive and effective care to our families. No matter the size of the need, or the timing, we are here to be a gentle liaison for family needs within a vast system of resources.

What to Expect

The kinship navigator works directly with families who are parenting children. Depending on the caregiver's needs and wishes, we can meet a variety of ways, including in-person home visits, telephone calls, and virtual meetings. We work collaboratively with caregivers, assisting them in identifying and removing barriers to receiving services for their identified needs.
