Showing Rock Solid Efforts In Resource Management, Best Practices, And Community Engagement

FamilyForward is honored to have achieved national re-accreditation through the Council on Accreditation (COA) as of March 1, 2024. This process provided us with the opportunity to demonstrate the implementation of best practice standards in the field of human services where COA evaluated all aspects of FamilyForward’s programs, services, managements, and administration. Prior to the FamilyForward merger in 2017, both entities, the Children’s Home Society and the Family Resource Center were first accredited as early as 1982.

The Council on Accreditation, a service of Social Current, provides an objective, independent, and reliable validation of an agency’s performance by assessing administration, management, and service delivery against international standards. This accreditation ensures well-coordinated, culturally competent, evidence-based, outcomes-oriented services provided by a skilled and supported workforce. As a result, this process demonstrates accountability in resource management, sets standardized best practices for service and administration, and increases organizational capacity for ongoing quality improvement.

“The COA Accreditation process is undeniably rigorous, encompassing 690 standards that must be met to achieve accreditation. From thorough interviews with staff and clients to providing written evidence of compliance with all COA standards, every aspect demands meticulous attention. Achieving this level of accreditation once again underscores our steadfast commitment to accountability, quality improvement, and above all, the well-being of the children and families we serve.” – Jenn Vorachack, Senior Director of Quality and Compliance

COA’s Commission voted to expedite re- accreditation based on agency strengths in financial processes, Board of Directors involvement, organization culture, quality improvement philosophy, client-centric practices, and more.

“COA Accreditation is a testament to our unwavering commitment to excellence in serving our community. This achievement is not just a milestone for FamilyForward but a reassurance to the community of our dedication to providing every child and family with the support and care they deserve.” – Karen Nolte, Chief Executive Officer

FamilyForward is proud to be COA Accredited through March 2028 and to be alongside 2,000+ community-based behavioral health care and social service organizations in the United States and Canada who have either successfully achieved accreditation or are currently engaged in the process.
